We're Emily and Raul, the team behind the Animals Teach book series. ​​ For over a decade, we've worked with young children, Emily as an artistic educator and Raul as a holistic coach. We've taught movement, watched kids play, listened to their stories, and sat with families through both the joyful and the hard moments. Over and over, we kept seeing two truths: Children are already whole, wise and deeply sensitive to the world around them but this world has become loud, fast and overwhelming especially for young nervous systems. Grocery store trips filled with flashing screens. Classrooms focus constantly on output production instead of sensory development. Even "kids entertainment" that leaves them wired instead of grounded. At the same time, we saw parents doing everything they could to help their children find calm, focus, and belonging often without tools that truly supported them. ​Animals Teach was born from this tension. We asked ourselves: What if we could create something that honored how children naturally learn through play, story, and connection without adding to the noise?​  Our work is rooted in a few simple beliefs: Children don't need more glitter, gimmicks, or pressure. They need room to breathe, to notice and to wonder. Learning is most powerful when it feels playful, loving and alive. When we slow down with children at the kitchen table, on the floor or side by side, we're not just teaching skills. We're shaping how they feel about themselves and the world. Animals Teach is our way of turning those beliefs into something you can use and share with the children you love. The series is just the beginning. In the years ahead, we'll continue exploring nature, cultural storytelling, emotional intelligence, and hands on activities that grow with children and families. Each creation is designed to invite creativity, build confidence, and deepen a sense of belonging in our world.
